A Creative Journey from Clay to Bronze: Jim Moir’s Unique Sky Arts Award

We are excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at Jim Moir’s creation of the Sky Arts Award! Inspired by the legendary Eduardo Paolozzi, Jim transformed a study of Paolozzi’s “Cyclops” into a unique and striking award design.

Below, you’ll find images showcasing the various stages of the creative process:

  • Clay Sculpting: The foundation of the piece, shaped and molded by hand.
  • Miniature Objects: Dolls house objects were incorporated for added detail.
  • Wax Model: Jim used the traditional lost wax process to create a wax version for casting.
  • Bronze Casting: The final version of the award, cast in bronze, was completed at Livingstone Art Founders.

This journey from concept to finished artwork highlights Jim’s remarkable ability to blend different mediums and inspirations, bringing something truly special to life.
